Rome

Flower Garden (3 star)
Location: The Flower Garden is centrally located just around the corner from Central Station, and about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Trevi Fountain. The nearest metro is Repubblica.

General: The Flower Garden is a good value 3 star hotel. The hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms, which are all en-suite. The rooms do vary in size, but are all in good condition and have hair dryers and air conditioning.

Opinion: The Flower Garden is a standard 3 star hotel offering good value accommodation in a central location. It would suit those who are looking for a clean central base without the frills.

Executive (4star)
Location: The Executive Hotel is located 0.75 miles North East of the Spanish Steps in a quiet side street behind the Piazza Fiume. The area has plenty of "real" shops, bars and restaurants, and for those wanting to stay in a less touristy area of Rome this is the ideal choice. Bus stop 50 yards, Repubblica metro about 15 minutes walk.

General: The Executive Hotel represents excellent value for money for a 4 star hotel. The hotel is located in an attractive 7 story building with a total of 56 rooms. The hotel has a professional feel to it, and offers a bar with modern furnishings that extends to a small outdoor courtyard in the summer. The rooms are nicely decorated in a simple style.

Opinion: The Executive Hotel offers 4 star comfort at a very competitive price. This is one of Cities Direct's most popular hotels in Rome, and would suit anyone wanting to stay in a less touristy area of this magnificent city.

Imperiale (4 star)
Location: The Imperiale Hotel is very centrally located, just 300 yards of the Spanish Steps in a quieter part of the Via Veneto near Piazza Barberini. There are shops, bars and restaurants in the immediate area and Barberini underground is just 20 yards away.

General: The Imperiale Hotel comes highly recommended, with an intimate and refined atmosphere. The hotel was renovated in 1999, and has a small wooden cocktail bar tucked into the corner of the smart reception area. There are 95 rooms, that all have facilities such as satellite TV, air conditioning and mini-bar. You can enjoy dining in the Gazebo Restaurant or observing the street life of the Via Veneto. During our last visit there was a particularly appealing tray of deserts and a fine collection of wine!

Opinion: The Imperiale Hotel would suite anyone looking for a very good 4 star in a central location and traditional style.

Paris

Veronese (2 star superior)
Location: In a quiet side street near the Place d'Italie. A few minutes' walk to the Gobelins métro station. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops right on your doorstep!

General: Rooms all have en-suite, TV and telephone. Breakfast is buffet-style with a very good choice of pastries, cereals, juices etc. Staff are all friendly and there is a range of tourist information available.

Opinion: Extremely good value indeed and one of our most popular hotels in the city.

Londres and New York (3 star superior)
Location: On a large square opposite St Lazare railway station. Very easy walking distance to the main Parisien department stores of Printemps and Galeries Lafayette.

General: Rooms are spacious, well-equipped and with very good soundproofing! Buffet breakfast is comprehensive. There's also a guests' lounge for relaxing. Numerous bars and restaurants on your doorstep with plenty of choice.

Opinion: An excellent choice for shoppers and sightseers alike. The area is busy and bustling with plenty to see and do within easy walking distance.

Burgundy (3 star superior)
Location: In a very chic shopping street close to the Place de la Concorde and the Tuileries Gardens. 100 yards to the Madeleine métro station.

General: An extremely attractive hotel dating from the 19th century. Superbly decorated and furnished, elegant but not overbearing. Spacious public areas with lovely high ceilings. Wonderful restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served. Rooms are of a good size and well equipped.

Opinion: Highly recommended for a stylish break away in an elegant part of the city.
